L'IL HELP HERE?
Sometimes people think that only big donations, big efforts, can make a difference. But really, it's a lot of people doing little things: refer your family and friends to resources, make a small donation, purchase a t-shirt, drop off yard sale items, or Just Say Something Nice!

Cats, especially feral cats, have no chance of making it out. Our mission is to reduce the population humanely by spaying, neutering and vaccinating the feral cats in our community.
The Big Kitty Fix works to reduce feline deaths by increasing awareness and providing affordable spay/neuter options. Working with a local veterinarian with a mobile spay-neuter van, the Program schedules events around the county. BKF uses the web and Facebook to inform the community.
The Big Kitty Fix is “hoping to provide these spaying and neutering events every six weeks,” Corella said. “As long as we have funds to facilitate, we will provide the services until we do not see unnecessary deaths.”
Big Kitty Fix Program Director Michelle Corella is a life-long resident of Las Cruces. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from NMSU and currently works in NMSU’s Information Technology department. She is also director of the Feral Cat Management Program (FCaMP) on campus, and serves as the secretary for the Coalition for Pets & People.
Big Kitty Fix
Cats, especially feral cats, have no chance of making it out. In 2011, 80% of all felines that entered the shelter were euthanized. Briefly, there are too few adopters to provide homes for the local population. People who leave the locale often abandon their unfixed pets, who then forage for themselves, breed, and increase the population even more.
